Are You Perfect for the job? Don't Be So Sure
When looking for a new job, most openings might not sound very appealing. Occasionally you hear about a job and think to yourself, "I am perfect for this job. It’s tailor-made for me." Excitedly, you dash off your cover letter and apply right away because you know your resume is ideal for the job.
Days pass in a blur of happy daydreaming about how great the new job would be.
You did your research on the company. You told your friends about it. You envisioned working there and you even thought about the commute. You knew this was destiny calling. When you went for the interview, you nailed it. You had a brilliant answer for everything. You felt like you had a mortal lock on the job.
Then ... radio silence. A few weeks later you received the rejection letter. They hired someone else.
